| "Here's what I love about travel: Strangers get a chance to amaze you. Sometimes a single day can bring a blooming surprise, a simple kindness that opens a chink in the brittle shell of your heart and makes you a different person when you go to sleep-more tender, less jaded-than you were when you woke up." |
| - "Looking for Abdelati" |
The collections below all include Tanya's work. Her story "Looking for Abdelati" (which is also, in an expanded form, the first chapter of her book Somebody's Heart is Burning) has become her "hit single," appearing in seven English language anthologies to date. It has also been translated into Italian and read on Australian National Radio.

| The Autobiographer's Handbook: The 826 National Guide to Writing Your Memoir (Holt) |
| Editor: Jennifer Traig |
| Notes: This book is actually not an anthology, but a roundtable discussion by various authors on a wide range of themes related to the writing of memoirs. I was one of the writers interviewed and am quoted extensively throughout. Recommended for anyone interested in writing tales from their own life or curious about the processes different writers use to shape those stories. |
